Tiger Maple Cantilevered Coffee Table with Slab Top

Unveiling the New Designs

As promised I am adding photos of Daniel’s latest projects which are now happily in residence in homes across the Northeast. A few blogs ago I posted some photos of Daniel’s new Cantilevered Designs with a teaser regarding some gorgeous, new tiger maple slab top cantilevered coffee tables he was creating for one of our very best clients. They ordered two since their room has two sofas and they felt it would be more comfortable for their guests then having to reach to one table placed in the middle of the room. What an ingenious idea! Each table looks great in front of its own sofa and Troy Brook Visions received the added bonus of being able to create two beautiful tables, both tops cut from the same stunning, highly-figured tiger maple slab.

And here's the second one! And here’s the second one!

My last blog illustrated a new design for a custom base for an expandable dining table Daniel was creating for some clients who have become wonderful friends. They have a beautiful, unique home with many objects they have collected over the years from different artists and artisans. We were tasked with creating a table that quietly enhanced the existing environment but would also stand on its own as a piece of functional art. Created from red oak to blend with the red oak flooring, Daniel inlaid the top of the table and the expanding leaves with black walnut, tiger maple and lacewood. The pattern complemented a stained glass window in the dining room. After placing the table in its rightful spot, we all christened it with a great bottle of wine and lively conversation!

Stunningly accurate detail work! Stunningly accurate detail work!

Between finishing all of these new tables, maintaining the gallery’s gardens, helping Daniel plan the new bluestone walkway and raised beds, and beginning the overwhelming process of redesigning our website my time has been very full. Our wonderful varnish finish creates a beautiful, durable, natural, user-friendly surface but it does not like the humid weather. Each coat takes twice as long to dry making the application process twice as hard. So when I need a break I head down to WTNH and tape another segment for CTStyle.
