What’s New in Litchfield
May 13, 2013 3:39 pmAfternoon All! Everything is starting to bloom (even the dandelions, a debate for another post – Do you like them or hate them?) after what seemed like the winter that would never end!
It has been 30 months since my last post and I am guessing the any marketing or social media professor would say that is too long! Effective as a marketing tool – probably not – but things have been hopping here in Litchfield and at the Troy Brook Visions studio and gallery and blogging just wasn’t on the “Have To” list. From here on in I promise to put it on the list and if you want to give us a second chance I think you just might find it fun to follow our blog. You never know what new idea has sparked Daniel’s interest and I will tell you all about it here.
Just to bring you up to date:
Daniel has been designing and creating some great new pieces and I will be posting photos of these in the coming days. His work has won some prestigious awards and since he decided to go back to being a one man studio he is busier than ever. And yet in his spare time he is working on splitting and stacking cords and cords of firewood and is about half way through creating his own acoustic guitar. I guess even in his down time the furniture maker must always be creating something using wood!
Barbara is still managing Troy Brook Visions, working with Daniel on finishing the pieces, and of course now will be blogging regularly (let’s not get crazy and say every day but she is going to shoot for once a week) but has also started her own adventure, Perfect Pastries. Working as a Private Pastry Chef Barbara creates beautiful, delicious endings for her clients’ parties and events. She has also become a regular guest on the Connecticut ABC affiliate WTNH’s CT Style, a half hour livestyle program. Each month she demostrates for viewers a new pastry technique, choosing recipes accessible to even the novice baker. If you would like to view some of her pastries click on the “Furniture” link, then “Recent Work” link on Troy Brook Visions website.
Marley, official greeter and studio dog, torn her ACL last year playing basketball with Daniel. She had surgery to repair it in October and is finally starting to look and act like herself. (For those of you who haven’t met Marley yet she is part Neufoundland and part Border Collie so her shaved leg was quite a shocker until her coat finally started to fill in about a month ago.)
Well, now you are all caught up. Check back soon to see the promised blog updates!
